Open Space Arts
Open Space Arts is a community arts organization based in Reisterstown. Open Space was founded in 1989 by Beth and Alden Phelps. They are committed to the philosophy that art is for everyone, and hope that their diverse offerings of classes, shows, events and workshops promote just that. It is their hope to strengthen the community through the arts. In 2008 they were named Reisterstown’s best home for the arts by the Baltimore Sun.
They are artists, educators, parents, and community members who are dedicated to fostering a safe space where families can come together and create amazing art. They produce original and high quality art that functions both to build self-esteem for the participants and be genuinely thought-provoking for the audience. They pride themselves on providing free or low-cost programming, so that art remains, as it should be, for everyone.
